Suzanne was a beloved celebrity in America since 1973 when she starred as the “Blonde in the white Thunderbird” in American Graffiti. She embodied the perfect combination of the girl next door, a sexy blonde bombshell, and a successful businesswoman. Her career took off with her first major role as the ditzy Chrissy Snow in Three’s Company, followed by her portrayal of the motherly entrepreneur Carol Lambert in Step by Step. Along the way, she posed for Playboy, served as a spokeswoman for Thighmaster, battled and survived breast cancer, and launched her line of healthcare products. Suzanne and Alan Hamel were married from 1977 until her passing on October 15, 2023.

Suzanne owned one of the most fascinating properties in California – a home modeled after L’Oustau de Baumanière in Provence, France. In addition to the primary residence, the property features individual cottages designated for guests. Speaking to PEOPLE in a 2016 interview, Somers described the home’s layout as unique, making it ideal for hosting guests. Each guest can retreat to their cottage at the end of the day for privacy, as several bedroom buildings and common buildings are scattered throughout the estate. The overall effect is reminiscent of a charming French village.
