The idea that great design is only for a privileged few is, well, hogwash. At least that’s IKEA’s take. The Swedish superstar has built its brand around creating stylish, functional pieces that elevate even the smallest of spaces, all at an affordable price point.
Making good design accessible to everyone, a concept known as democratic design, became a mainstay of IKEA’s mission back in 1995. To prove their point, they launched the first IKEA PS collection. The innovative series quickly became a recurring hit with IKEA fans, and now it’s here for its 10th installment, IKEA PS 2026.
The IKEA PS 2026 Collection Puts the “Fun” in Functional
At its core, the PS collection focuses on Scandinavian design principles and simplicity, but it also incorporates another essential ingredient into the mix. This collection encourages fun and playfulness in the home. In other words, it gives you the freedom to loosen up and not take life so seriously.
But this quirky edginess doesn’t come at the expense of functionality. These pieces love to bend, rock, roll, and even inflate (remember IKEA’s inflatable couch?), but they do so with a purpose. Think — intentionality meets whimsy.
The latest rendition of the collection adds more than 40 products to the family. Check out these highlights!
Quirky Wall Art

Weird and wacky might be two words you would use to describe the wall art in IKEA’s latest PS installment (and we love it). These quirky wall faces are sure to get guests talking, and you can choose from different color masks or a larger wall face to mix things up a bit and create different looks.
Abstract Rugs

I’m one of those people who prefer the floor, as long as the floor is comfy. Cushy rugs warm up your space and provide a cozy spot to lounge, play games, or stretch out for a snooze. The abstract patterns are vibrant and fun, whether you pick the oval rug with its green splatter or the vivid red PS 2026 5 x 7 rug.
Funky Vases

The IKEA PS 2026 vase is great for showing off your favorite blooms or standing tall on its own as a piece of art (I mean, it has ears, how can you not love it?). The smaller vase adds more color, or you can make a statement with the taller blue-and-green vase. All of the vases are hand-blown by skilled artisans, making each one unique.
Playful Patterns

You’ll find this colorful and whimsical pattern repeated throughout the collection on the playful cushion cover, a lightweight throw, and precut fabric. The fabric is just right for that exciting DIY project you’ve been dreaming about, whether you want to make matching curtains or even a cute apron to jazz up your meal prep session.
Off-Beat Seating
IKEA’s PS 2026 collection offers tons of interesting seating options, many of which expand, rock, lift, and fold. These pieces add fun to any room, and they’re especially perfect for small spaces, proving that functional and playful design fits into homes of any size.
Bright Side Chair

Choose a bright blue or green side chair to add a splash of color to your room. The comfy seat invites you to kick back and relax, or sit backward and use the backrest as an armrest. It’s all about flexibility with this collection. Plus, you can remove the covers to wash them, talk about simple!
Colorful Folding Chair

Not a lot of space for seating? A folding chair is just the thing. You can fold this baby up when not in use and tuck it away until next time. Or leave it out all the time, because it looks so good. This chair offers possibilities and options for everyone, which is part of what democratic design is all about.
It’s a Chair, It’s a Bed

Need a place for overnight guests to get their beauty rest? Or maybe you want to go from sitting to sleeping without leaving the room. This comfortable chair bed is just what you need, and it has a removable, washable cover. Choose between bright orange and a more subtle beige.
The Inflatable Chair

IKEA is a pro at furnishing small spaces, and you can’t get much more flexible than an inflatable chair. This unique piece has two inflatable parts, allowing you to adjust the firmness to your perfect level. The included pump makes inflating a breeze, and you can wash the cover to keep things looking fresh.
A Sleek, Simple Chair

This birch chair features interesting lines and angles, but keeps things simple with lacquered plywood. It’s beautiful in its simplicity, giving off a mid-century vibe that blends whimsy with a modern sensibility.
Height-Adjustable Stool

Whether you need a place for the kids to sit or extra seating for grown-ups, an adjustable stool gives you options. Designer Mikael Axelsson tested out the stool on his family, making sure it got a thumbs-up from everyone.
Rocking Bench

The hardest part of designing this playful rocking bench was ensuring it provided adequate strength and support. Designer Marta Krupińska said it all finally came together thanks to a clever wood-gluing technique on the rockers. Now, you can rock the night away without worrying about an unfortunate mishap!
Stylish Tables
Whether you need a place to enjoy a meal with friends or a spot to hold your snacks during your latest TV marathon, these tables deliver. And if you’re short on space and need to fold things up when you’re not using them, you can find that, too.
Classic Round Table

This matte green round table fits smoothly into small spaces, bringing everyone together for a friendly chat, a fun game, or a tasty meal. Pair it with the bright side chair or bring out the folding chairs to complete the look.
Folding Side Table

Place this folding side table wherever you need it, when you need it, and tuck it away when you don’t. It’s great next to the sofa as a side table, working as an impromptu laptop desk, or for those movie-night dinners in front of the TV.
Folding Pine Table

Don’t have space for a dedicated dining room? No problem! Bring out this large folding table when it’s time to chow down or for your next game night. When it’s not in use, fold it up and slide it under a bed or behind the couch.
Square Table

This might look like a straightforward square table, but it’s hiding a couple of surprises. There’s a storage drawer, but it opens from both sides, which could make for an interesting chess game. The lining inside the drawer is also a bright blue, which just makes you happy every time you peek inside.
Whimsical Storage
If there’s one thing IKEA does well, it’s storage. The company is all about finding ways to organize and store belongings without detracting from your design. The PS 2026 collection features several items that make it easy to stay clutter-free.
Pink Glass Cabinet

Use this pretty pink glass-door cabinet to display your favorite decor or store items you don’t want to hide. It’s great for china, your favorite action figure collection, glassware, and anything else you want to show off in style.
Basket-Weave Cabinet

If you prefer to keep things out of sight, this pine cabinet offers hidden storage while doubling as an interesting statement piece. The woven design is unique and beautiful, and the inside features ample shelving for games, books, and more.
Birdhouse Nightstand

This simple pine nightstand reminds me of a birdhouse, and I think it’s adorable. The fold-down front hides a storage compartment, with angled cuts in the back that are perfect for slipping cords through.
Round Utility Cart

Rolling carts are great for creating portable storage, but this round utility cart also keeps things interesting. It almost looks like a wedding cake on wheels, doesn’t it? Each layer is an opportunity to store your essentials in one easy-to-access place.
Shelving Unit

This large shelf unit has an open, airy design that keeps things from becoming too bulky or overwhelming. Style the shelves with books, decor, and more, or use them to hold supplies in a craft room or home office.
Wall Hooks

Maximize vertical space with this wall-mounted hook rack, featuring five pop-out hooks ready for action. Fold them out when you need them, and bend them back when you don’t. The hooks are perfect for an entryway to hold hats, coats, and bags.
Storage Ottoman

This handwoven rattan storage ottoman has plenty of space inside for spare blankets, shoes, and anything else you need to tuck away. The natural material feels warm and inviting, and the two-tone design is modern and visually appealing.

Round out your fun and functional design with these other pieces from IKEA’s PS 2026 Collection!
Portable Battery Lamp

Let your light shine everywhere you go with this cute LED battery lamp. No cord means no hassle, and there are three fun colors to choose from.
Bendable Floor Lamp

This yellow floor lamp is actually like having three lamps in one! Thanks to 45-degree angles, you can bend the arm to create an uplight, downlight, or spotlight, shining the glow where you need it the most. Don’t like yellow? No worries! There are also bright blue and dark red options.
White Pendant Lamp

An oversized pendant lamp is an easy way to make a statement in your space, and this one makes it loud and clear. Style and simplicity are at their finest, and the rice paper shade diffuses the light into a warm, cozy glow.
Funky Mirror

This abstract mirror was originally supposed to have a wooden frame, but due to a mix-up with the prototype, it ended up with a metal one instead. I’d say it was a happy accident, because the finished product looks great. Use it as a table mirror, or hang it up in a pinch.
Periscope Clock

Always know what time it is with this playful clock. The periscope design keeps things interesting and unique, and the vibrant red instantly catches your eye.
