Materials: Stolmen pole and ODLA planters
Description: I have a very small footprint of a patio to plant anything as I’ve downsized from a 7 bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment. But I still need to find a way to garden.
I have owned these ODLA galvanized planters for years and I’ve had a Stolmen system also for several years and have used the latter quite conventionally. I had a spare pole in my storage closet and woke up the other morning realizing I could use the pole to hang my window boxes off that.
I couldn’t find a 1/4″ diameter bolt in the length I wanted to thread through the 7″ depth of the window box. In retrospect I suppose I could have used ready-rod but I had no way to cut it and not damage the threads. So I spent $10 on nuts, bolts and washers.
I had to cut a hole in the middle to the side of the window box at the bottom to thread a set of bolt/washer and nut through and also one from the top bracket which keeps it centered and in place.
