Hi folks,  does anyone know where I can get specific measurements or even better drawings for METOD doors and drawer fronts? I have sourced some panels that need CNC cutting to size and would need exact dimensions to programme into computer.  I’m not confident in getting some doors as templates and producing the drawings myself.  Any help appreciated, thank you

  1. Hi! I’m probably a bit late to the party but I’m looking to CNC my own draw front and doors for an Metod ikea kitchen and need exactly the same dimensions. Doors aren’t too much of a problem but I need the pilot hole location for all their drawer fronts. Any help will be gratefully received.

  2. Anyone here have any luck hacking a metod drawer to fit knto a faktum base?

    They claim depths between the series are the same at 60cm, whilst actually faktum is 58 (60 with doors), and metod is 60 (62 with doors).

    My initial thought of drilling a few holes in my faktum base to match the metod hole pattern, doesnt work. Anyone have tried going further (chopping down the drawer by 2cm, or moving the backpanel 2cm, or something)?

  3. I am not sure how much local customer service would help as they were unable to tell me the size of holes in the METOD suspension rail.

    I cannot understand why IKEA do not publish secion and plan drawings for their units and dimensions for the main components. If we had them for ane particular unit most of what we need could be reliably inferred for others.

  4. Did you manage to find the measurements, Billie. I’m looking to do exactly the same but I’m concerned about getting the bore holes in the correct place.

  5. How about the inner measurements then? I’m actually quite surprised noone has made a post on this site regarding how to fit FAKTUM-parts in METOD cabinets and vice versa.

    I bought a brand new FAKTUM kitchen a few weeks before METOD was announced. Local IKEA workers told me nothing, and afterwards revealed that they knew all along that a new range was coming, but was silenced by management. They also lied when they told me that I could easily buy parts for FAKTUM for a minimum of two more years. Now I have to pay € 200 in shipping for the FAKTUM parts.

    So now I am thinking I could maybe hack the METOD cabinets to fit FAKTUM drawers in them if I drill the screw holes myself. However, the inner width of the cabinets have to be roughly the same for it to work. Does anybody know if it’s the same? My FAKTUM is 56.2 cm (maybe 56.25 cm) inside.

    1. We also got ripped off by IKEA, we ordered and installed a $10,000 kitchen (Faktum) six months before the Metod product was released. They did tell us that a new model was coming out, but also said we could buy parts for 2 years. 6 months after the release of Metod and we are being told we cannot get parts as they are holding stock back for warranty claims. Want to convert a microwave space in a base cabinet to two drawers for spices, etc, and cannot buy Rationell drawers. I am thinking that I might be able to hack Metod drawers fitted into the Faktum cabinets, and I have one Stat front spare for the middle drawer, but not the plain top drawer front. Very disappointing Mr IKEA, your after sales help sucks!

  7. For single piece doors, say 60×80, the measurement is pretty spot on (59.5 as it has tolerance for opening) IIRC from my bathroom project. But if you’re CNC cutting, all you need is measure up your coverage area and give it 0.5cm tolerance on the vertical edge. The one you need to get perfect is actually the hinge bore holes. They are really 3.4cm rather than common 3.5cm diameter. Then you also need your drawer fronts to have pretty spot on pilot holes to mount on the drawers.
