When faced with leftover holes from a previous shelving unit, this DIYer didn’t just patch and paint.
Instead, they turned a small wall fix into an opportunity for style and function using two simple IKEA items: the RIBBA picture ledge (110cm) and LEDBERG LED light strip.
A Quick, Low-Cost Fix
Using the existing wall holes and a couple of brackets, they mounted the RIBBA ledge directly to the wall—no need for extra drilling. Then they placed the LEDBERG light strip inside the ledge to create a sleek, hidden light source.
The result? A subtle glow that adds atmosphere to the space and turns what was once wall damage into a design feature.
A Tip for a Cleaner Look
For an even more seamless finish, consider painting the picture ledge the same color as your wall. It helps the shelf visually disappear into the background while letting the soft LED glow take center stage—perfect for that minimalist, built-in look.
