IKEA items used: IKEA Markus
The casters on many of IKEA office chairs aren’t the best. Here’s how Paul replaced his IKEA MARKUS casters with a new set of wheels.
1. Remove the existing casters from the chair. In case you’re wondering, it’s easy to get the wheels off of the chair. Just turn the chair on its side and pull the wheel toward you.
2. Get some Rollerblade style casters like these.
3. IKEA uses a 10mm diameter stem on their casters, but most of the good rollerblade wheel casters are at 11.1mm (7/16 inch).
4. The solution is to drill out the hole with a 7/16″ drill bit.
5. Install the new casters. Done!
