They opted for the GREJIG shoe rack instead, which IKEA has for $4.99, but the hacker scored them for $1.49 each! Quite a bargain, and the beauty of the grid style is that it provides flexible organization you can customize however you like.

How to Turn the GREJIG Shoe Rack Into a Wall Grid
1. Prep the Shoe Racks
Remove the legs from the two shoe racks. Keep them handy because you can use them as accessories if you want.
2. Hang the Racks
Install the racks using L-shaped screws. They fit through the holes where the legs used to be.
3. Add Accessories
Position the SKÅDIS baskets as desired. I like how the hacker placed two of the larger baskets toward the bottom corners of the upper rack. The way the containers extend beyond the top of the lower grid really gives the impression that the whole thing is a singular unit.
You can also use basic S-hooks and curtain clips for other attachments. The hacker repurposed one of the legs from the shoe rack as a hanger for pics on the bottom of the grid.
