I made this in a couple of stages …
First – after planning my project out on paper
I made the lower base from Hot Rolled Steel Tube – cut and welded in my Workshop – where I fabricate my Custom Steel Furniture I produce.
And then took it to my local PowderCoating Factory to have a Gloss White finish applied to “match” the appearance of IKEAs KALLAX (bye-bye EXPEDIT).
Here’s the first section all done after we just moved in!
Following a brief time I completed PowderCoating the remaining middle support section to create room for my brother Aaron Kramer’s wire sculpture.
I like the idea of the powerful impact that this hack makes to all who visit our “new” (in a Vintage building that was built in 1884) loft!
