With the holidays just around the corner, seasonal stress and hustle can heighten the risk of injury, especially in busy kitchens as families prepare festive meals. To raise awareness of common but easily overlooked kitchen dangers, safety experts have created a puzzle challenging readers to spot hidden hazards.
The Knowledge Academy, which provides food safety training and certification, crafted a puzzle identifying seven common kitchen hazards. According to the creators, it takes an average of 45 seconds to find all seven hidden dangers that could result in accidents or injuries during the busy holiday season.
In a test of the puzzle, one in four people could only find six of the hazards before giving up. “The goal is to highlight how easily kitchen dangers can be overlooked – particularly when tackling what’s dubbed the ‘most stressful meal of the year,’” said a spokesperson from The Knowledge Academy.
