Etsy is my go-to place for IKEA with a twist. In the treasure trove of a site, I often find fun and unique items such as “vintage” IKEA and readymade IKEA hacks, running the gamut of vinyl decals to cute IKEA accessories. An entire industry, seriously.
Which is fine by me.
I, for one, have seasons when I lack the skill or required-attention-span to hack, so if I can get it done for me at a reasonable price, and done well … YES, please!
With the holiday season round the corner and Black Friday in a few weeks, I’ll point out a few Etsy readymade IKEA hacks that caught my attention. In the mix are items that can give your home that year-end glow up, all without the heavy lifting. And some unique gift ideas for the IKEA lover (or yourself).

What IKEA hacks to buy on Etsy this Black Friday?
The first thing on my list are furniture upgrades. With these Etsy shops, you’ll find the KALLAX door, shelf insert you’ve always wanted or that custom box to fit the cubby. Yes, all here.
(I’ve listed more categories of products on my IKEA hacks shop, beyond the scope of this post, so check that out for more ideas.)
IKEA Furniture upgrades
Add intricate fretwork to your IKEA dressers and instantly elevate its style. Swap the plain IKEA KALLAX door inserts for these stylish Art Deco doors with an easy-install hinge system. Or totally change the style of the KALLAX with these arch overlays. The curved edges immediately softens the looks of the cube storage.
Alternatively, choose these hand-drawn DRÖNA storage boxes for a whimsy style or felt boxes for a softer touch.
While IKEA has come up with their own limited-edition range of clothing, it doesn’t come close to the parody T-shirts on Etsy. Who doesn’t like poking fun at the Swedish furniture store? ??♀️ Get one for the IKEA fans you know.
FRAKTA hacks are always a good idea and head turning. This handmade cap has a pencil holder, perfect for the stubby IKEA pencil. Complete the OOTD with a hand-painted IKEA shopping bag or a tote bag made from the SORTSÖ rug.
IKEA hacks for Kids
Artists on Etsy are constantly coming up with smart solutions for IKEA items. Such as this bestselling footrest for the ANTILOP high chair. It’s so easy to add on to the high chair without the need of any tools. And baby’s feet are so much happier.
To complete the look, wrap the silver metal legs with adhesive bamboo leg wraps. Then, add a pretty sage green high chair seat. And just like that your kid dines in style this Christmas.
Moving on from the ANTILOP, let’s makeover the DUKTIG bed. Change out the bedding of the DUKTIG doll bed with a new set of quality linens.
Create more play options via the TROFAST bins + FLISAT table combo. Drop in a Colour Activity Board or a kitchen set and voilà, a whole new game.
Lastly, organise the TROFAST bins with lovely custom wood labels.
